Great show. Richard Ayoade is hilarious as Moss (check him out in "Garth Merenghi's Dark Place", too -another absolutely BRILLIANT show!)

I would have to agree with that. It's fucking nasty.

And 99% nicotine. And it also has a bunch of cyanide: If the efficiency of smoke would be complete, it would kill a human. Then again, so would a single cigarette.

/E: I once found somebody who said resin is the strongest 'strain' there is. It was funny as you can imagine. But even better: There are guides on how to use it: How's this for using it: Don't. :D

Err... how does the residue from cannabis become nicotine? If that were the case most people would puke from smoking resin.

Oh yeah, forgot that you Yanks barely ever smoke hash. Which is most often mixed with cigarettes(or if you're loaded as fuck, with weed.)

Still, it's probably just plant residue and tar mostly in place of nicotine, with trace amounts of THC. And let's not forget the fact that it's just plain nasty no matter how you look at it. Imagine somebody eating shrooms and then having a huge dump, after which somebody else eats it(the difference being that most of the psilocybin etc actually remains.)

Yeah, most people here don't smoke hash, they're just obsessed with different "brands" of weed with increasingly obnoxious names. But even here, smoking resin is seen as somewhat desperate.

you think smoking resin is desperate? how about picking through the trash for a very small bit of resin to a smoke. yeah, that was my roommate this past year. he wanted to spread the trash over our floor just to look for the teeniest bit of resin.

There's no thinking to be done here. It just IS. Fact. Discussion over, I win. Cookie, please. It's like that scene in Trainspotting when he dives into the toilet. DESPERATE.

Here is my totally uninformative opinionated rant on (loosely on zombie plots)/dead space sequel and why I don't hate them but they are ultimately unsatisfying to me. I'd like to start out that I like zombie movies and I find Dead Space to be a good game in its own right and they've done a lot of things right. However, both require the viewers/players to have more than the normal dose of suspended disbelief in order to believe that the protagonist/s will ever succeed.

I'll start with Dead Space. Most games or movies allow us to believe that death in these worlds is easier to avoid, the rules are different, or our main character has an ace up his sleeve. In Dead Space or zombie movies however, it is real world, and easy to die. That's why it becomes impossible to play on when I watch the main character get brutally stabbed, horribly bitten, and fail to swiftly bleed to death or become infected. In these kind of plots it becomes impossible to believe that a well equipped army will succeed let alone one sole MORTAL human being armed with nothing except drilling tools.

This would be the equivalent of supplying Macgyver with oil drilling equipment in order for him to fight the zombie plague (Olympic sprinter kind) on cocaine. Don't get me wrong, Macgyver is awesome, but even in Macyver's world he's fucked unless he's got some atomic paperclip hidden somewhere that can end the world. This becomes important because throughout the storyline the looming threat of the ever present, over powered, and unstoppable enemy creates tension that is never eased. This slowly develops into a sense of hopelessness which in a second play through can feel like pointless. You see when even your main character dies to kill the mother monster yet the plague persists you drive home the point of hopelessness, (if this is your point a sequel should never be involved), a sequel now without the x factor of knowing whether or not the new hero/s or past hero will succeed (They will not) is already answered, it becomes just 101 ways to horribly die, if I wanted this there are plenty of Final Destination films I can watch.

Again, I in no way think Dead Space is a bad game, I think they did alot of things well, mainly keeping you scared and creating a truly terrifying enemy, if anything I feel they have become a victim of their success because now they cannot create a character to stop it. Many games I feel suffer from this, and it feels like despite your success nothing is resolved, Gears of War is a big one that comes to my mind. It just becomes hard for you to care about the main characters when you know they will be food in the next take. Perhaps the next zombie film should be in the perspective of the zombies ala All Quiet on the Eastern Front. Same goes for Romero movies, Goddammit if everyone dies at the end no matter what then why make me spend an hour and a half with these people before you just kill them in the credits? I don't spend time getting to know the cows at the slaughterhouse.

Dude I totally agree. I can't stand to watch movies where the theme seems to be "hopelessness", and everything just ends fucked up and makes you feel like shit when you leave the theater. There are good movies that end on negative notes, such as Stalingrad for example. But that is more of a historical movie....it leaves you sad, but not hopeless and it doesn't make you feel like you wasted your time getting to know the characters.

The way cookie cutter slasher movies never seem to end is one reason why I can't stand to watch those kinds of movies. How many fucking Jason or Saw movies are there now??? Every single one of them ends with "nope, all yall failed and the bad guy will come back to murder everybody again. SEE YA NEXT TIME!"

I don't think I've played a game that has this irritating sort of storytelling (never played Dead Space), although one reason I could never play the Resident Evil or Silent Hill games was that it seemed to me the whole point of the game was to run away against all odds and try not to die. If I play a zombie or a horror game, I want to believe in my character's ability to kick major ass. I don't like running away....it bothers me.

i feel like shit. :( didn't sleep at all last night, and only for like 4hrs.
i crashed when i got home from work last night, and slept till like 7:45. then played SC2 for like 3 hours, watched some hulu... then went out for a midnight ride through some back roads of centre county and got half lost. turned back. then hung out in a parking lot on campus listening to mr. bungle. woke up at 6, and went to work.

my 4-shot latte was not quite enough.
