imgur is blocked on the train wifi :(

is transitioning to solidworks (or similar) a good idea if I want to get a decent job doing this? I have some freelance work coming up, but looking at job adverts etc. there seems to be a lot more well paid gigs doing visualisation or CAD type stuff.
I'm working at a shitey office job at the moment which pays the bills but tbh I want to make some proper money.

Actually, what I really want is to be one of those digital nomad wanks who doss about in thailand, working 20 mins a day over the internet whilst sitting on the beach, kept warm by the glow of their own smugness. Any ideas for that?

That bake turned out real nice! I'm not too excited about the tire treads, but the rest is looking good! I'll be stalking to see this completed

Working on the textures. Accidentally made the paint a conductor, so gotta fix that.

Yes, and 15 minutes. It's my fave part of texturing :)
I do a dual brush with varying sizes and just go to town on it. 30% flow on flats and 60% on edges.
After that I go over with some scratchy-grungy brushes and lastly remove superfluous or messy parts.
fixed my materials:

That scene is coming together really nicely, Chris. I love the subtle spooky skellington. The lighting and presentation are pretty cool 2. Can you up the quality on the bokeh for the final render? It's pretty square rite now. I'd also love to see some dust revealing the path of the ligth for the hologram.

I'm calling this done if there aren't any substancial crits on it.
