Gunshop shakiness and new reviewers |
|
The gunshop could be compared to a yo-yo in recent times, in that it goes up-down-up-down...
Fortunately, we have ideas in place to secure the future of the site.
May I also welcome TwinkeMasta and Knivez to the team, who pledge to help us get the Gunshop back on top as far as quality models are concerned. Thanks guys! |

Gunshop back up (thanks to donations) |
|
Stating the obvious, the Gunshop has been put back online. Thanks to an overwhelming response from our community by donating cash to compensate Monkeh for the bandwidth drain he endured the last 8 days we're able to keep the Gunshop open this month.
Thanks to all those dedicated people, who've helped out financially. |

Gunshop downloads temporarilly offline |
|
Sorry people, the gunshop downloads have been stopped for the coming month.
The reason is that the bandwidth used on Monkeh's account in these last 8 days was already 75% of what we get. Drawing a linear line it would mean an extra fee for bandwidth of about $200+ USD.
We're sorry for this inconvenience. We'lre currently looking into ways of resolving this problem. |

Gunshop moved to new server |
|
yes, the Gunshop is back! Our old hoster had problems hosting the gunshop due to its constant heavy load and bandwidth consumption. The Gunshop is now hosted by Monkeh who's been so kind to help us out. |

Gunshop Update |
The gunshop has been inactive for a while due to the mass influx of Condition Zero skins and models, our system was previously only set up to deal with Counter-Strike 1.6 models.
I have now updated the system and we can handle CS, CZ and CS:S models, you can view our models for these games by selecting the category as usual from the left, and then choosing a game title at the top.
Models for Condition Zero MAY NOT be used in Counter-Strike 1.6.
We have added two new reviewers to the team, Darkstorn and Hawk - hopefully these two will help in the fight to update ourselves with the latest and greatest models. We also have a shit load (for want of a better term) of tutorials at our forum which need transferring to here.
In other CDG news, we are raising funds for a new game server and also for some new hosting for the Gunshop. Any small donation would help, and if you are interested in giving us a hand on the way to our total, please donate using on the front page of the forum |

Back again & new reviewer |
Well, the gunshop is back into business. As you might have noticed the shop has been unreachable for a period of time. This was mainly due server downtime and a DNS problem, which now all have been sorted out.
Also, we decided to take on extra reviewers. Some of our current reviewers *hangs head in shame* are too busy with work and other activities to keep the reviews going. To make sure the reviews keep coming we've recruited Soundwave.
So, we welcome Soundwave in our midst and hope he will supply many good reviews. ;) |

Gunshop back up |
yes! Finally the Gunshop is back in the running!
As undoubtedly all you loyal Gunshop fans have noticed, the gunshop has been down for quite some time, due to a catastrophic harddisk failure. As a result a lot of data needed to be moved and software reinstalled. The last bit that needed reinstalling was MySQL, which the gunshop uses for its storage.
Everything should be running fine again. If you notice something out of the ordinary (bug/glitch/Matt with a bad hairday) please report it on the forums.
Last of all I would like to thank you all for your patience. ;) |

Latest News from CDG |
I today received word from Scott Lynch at Valve Software with regards to the use and distribution of CZ arms and models:
Hi Matt,
Gabe passed along your email.
You're doing the right thing by not allowing the posting or distribution of CZ material. We do not allow any CZ content to be re-distributed as an upgrade to Counter-Strike.
With regards to use in mods, the only Valve content that you can use in a mod is what is distributed as part of the Valve SDK subject to the EULA that is included with the SDK.
Thanks for checking.
Scott
We hope this will bring an end to the constant arguing about whether or not it is right to use them |

Happy birthday CDG! |
|
Yes, today is Clan of the Dead Goat's 4th anniversary. CDG was founded on 08-04-2000 by Jemimus and me. Four years later here we still are; Jemimus' gunshop more popular than ever. I'm curious to see where we will be in a year from now. |

About CZ models |
As many of you know by now Counter-Strike: Condition Zero has been launched.
Regarding the usage of parts of CZ for custom models we like to point out that this material is still under copyright, REGARDLESS of it being released. This means, unless the author(s) give explicit approval, these models are to be left alone. The Gunshop honours copyright and will not host any models that feature CZ materials until permission has been granted.
We are trying to get the creators of CZ to release the models to the public domain for purpose of customisation. We will keep you informed. |

Image Thumbnails |
We received a few complaints that the images shown when viewing a list of models were too bandwidth heavy (they were just the full size render being shown smaller). As a result of which I have created thumbnails of every render we have, and our upload script now automatically makes thumbnails when we add a new model.
This reduces loading time and bandwidth usage, wahey. |

IRC Channel and MP5 fixes. |
Firstly, CDG is now using an IRC channel, the channel is #clandeadgoat on quakenet. If you have IRC installed you can click here to join the channel for modelling/CS/DoD/Completely insane discussion.
Secondly, aforementioned resident G 'Hawk' has fixed some of our MP5 glitches for us, included are the EoD and Minion/Otter.
Bye for now! |

Working P Models |
|
A recent Steam Update unlocked P models for the SG550 and UMP (previously you had to use default P models). As a result of this, new found gangster "Hawk" has created, and I have updated. |

Update |
It's now been a few weeks since we updated to the new site, and the community is still buzzing like a bee in a fridge (would it buzz or just slowly die of cold?). Anyway, plenty of hacks about, check the forum for more. We prefer to release high quality original stuff here, check out Ank's new M4, and there's some cool AKs around too.
Finding the gun you want
If you're looking for just MP5s, for example, then type "mp5" in the search box, or click advanced and choose mp5 from the drop down list. |

To Netscape and Mozilla users... |
As you might know I've been tinkering away on this design for quite some time and I hope all like it.
As a final effort to make the Gunshop a high-standard website I've made it a point to make the design compatible with the browsers using the Gecko render engine. We now look good to 99% of the world! (And to all of you Mosaic users; come on guys! Upgrade! ;)) |

Welcome. |
Welcome to the new gunshop.
All models are not uploaded yet, we are continuing to make the collection bigger and better, all sections are not complete either - but it's an ongoing site so keep checking back!
Hope you like it. |
